Antique oil on canvas landscape painting of Southern European fishing village by the sea, framed and signed Louis Valmiere. Note the stormy skies, colorful sweaters of the fisherman returning to shore and the thatch roof houses. Canvas measures approximately 20” wide by 13” tall. Gilt wood frame measures 24.5” wide, 1.5” deep and 17.5” tall. Acquired by previous owner in 1976 from an art dealer in Brussels, Belgium. Painting has crackling and other minor imperfections.
