Lovely decorative set of fourteen antique copper escargot or egg poach pans.
Hand-hammered copper, tin lined with hand cast brass handles.
Hand-hammered copper, tin lined with hand cast brass handles.
I’m told they where used for egg-poaching or maybe for cooking snails (escargots).
Because of the manual craftsmanship they are all different in diameter, height colour and number of ‘bumps’.
Some are high gloss polished and look almost new and quite shiny, and some have the wonderful patine of ‘never been polished’.
Either way this is a pretty decorative and impressive collection for a restaurant or kitchen wall.
The biggest has a diameter of 48 centimeters (18.9 inches)
The smallest has a diameter of 24 centimeters (9.45 inches)
This is measured without the handles.
