This simple, elegant ceiling light or wall sconce by Wilhelm Wagenfeld shows the strong influence of his Bauhaus education. As with all of his designs, high quality, high functionality and simple, beautiful, pared-back design are the hallmarks.
This ceiling lamp which can be used as a wall sconce was designed in 1955 by Prof. Wilhelm Wagenfeld for Lindner Leuchten, Bamburg, Germany. The manufacturer was Piell and Putzler. This porcelain fixture with threaded milk glass and original rubber ring is in excellent condition.
The base is marked 961 LJS. This is model number 961.2/5092, which is 30cm in diameter. The model number and further images can be found in the online Lindner Leuchten archive and the key Wagenfeld reference book ‘Taglich in der Hand’.

Condition:GoodWear consistent with age and use. Really excellent condition, though it is old, therefore inner edges of glass shade have extremely small fleabites. In ‘as new’ condition.
