FELIX SCHWAKE designs furniture, interiors and architecture. His studio in Bochum, Germany consists of architects, designers and artists.
Felix is a German architect and designer. Based in Bochum, Germany he designs furniture, interiors and architecture. Born in 1984 in Fulda, Germany, after graduating from the Mies-van-der-Rohe-School in Aachen, he studied architecture in Dortmund. At the department of architecture of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund Felix teaches building design and building construction

The everyday world is concretely experienced with all senses. Art seems to be the exact opposite. It lives in the imaginary world of poetry.
Felix Schwake dissolves the everyday function of his pieces (chair, table, bed,…) into “object carriers” (frames, stages, pedestals, backgrounds,…) by abstraction.
Through this transformation of his works into the abstract, he transfers the viewer via the detour of his intellect into his world of poetry.
Felix Schwake wants to make the own self conscious (self-confident) and make the own inner needs and longings, as well as the own habitus designed for the environment, evaluable.
His works abstract the functional environment to make life visible as an exhibit. In the field of tension between “function” and “art”, his works enable the own self to become aware of itself.
