An elegant and very high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period Mahogany, ormolu and Sarrancolin marble buffet, signed ‘Haentges Frères, Paris’. The two door and two drawer buffet are raised by topie shaped fluted legs ending with ormolu sabots. The two doors display fine recessed panels and are decorated with delicate foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons and elegant tapered reserves. The doors open to reveal all their original high quality top to bottom hardware, the plaque with the signature, and one adjustable shelf. The two drawers each display graceful berried laurel wreath pulls, one central keyhole escutcheon which locks both drawers, and richly chased foliate reserves in beautiful satin and burnished finish at each side. Above is the original Sarrancolin marble top with a fine mottled edge. All original gilt throughout.
