Vintage Design
This Mid Century modern rocking chair is made of bentwood; it subtly evokes the lines of the iconic Art Nouveau Thonet rocking chair.
It was produced by TON (Thonet continued to produce furniture under “TON” in Socialist Czechoslovakia) in the 1950-60s.
The rocking chair perfectly combines curves typical for the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods with simplistic Mid Century aesthetics.
A modern footrest shaped like a leaf (corresponding with the upholstery pattern) accompanies the armchair to make lounging in it even more comfortable!
The chair has been professionally restored.
The wood has been stripped back and hand polished.
